Research Post-Doctoral Fellow

The Department of Food and Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture, Tennessee State University
(TSU) is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to work as a Research Postdoctoral Fellow in a USDA-funded project in food ingredient science, dietary fiber, and gut microbiome. This is a one-year, grant-funded position which may be extended depending on the availability of funds.

The position requires knowledge of food ingredient science, polysaccharide chemistry, dietary fiber, molecular microbiology, in vitro and in vivo evaluation of functional properties of food ingredients, gut microbiome and gut health, and analytical instrumentation is essential for this position. The position will be stationed at the TSU main campus and will involve research activities at other collaborating institutions as needed.

Ph.D. degree in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Biological Science or related disciplines. Proficiency in designing and conducting wet chemical and spectroscopic experiments involving inorganic and organic soil contaminants. 

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a criminal background check as mandated by Tennessee State University.
