Create a New Account

To create a new account on GlycoData, follow these steps:

  1. Open your web browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.) and type glycodata.org/signup in the address bar, then press enter to navigate to the GlycoData homepage.
  2. Enter your email address, a unique username, and a password to create an account.
  3. You will use your username OR email address and password to log in.
  4. After creating your account, you will be redirected to the login page.

Log Into Your Account

To log into your GlycoData account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Login Page.
  2. Enter your username OR email address and password.
  3. Click Next to go to the Two-Factor Authentication Page.
  4. Enter the code from your 2FA app (Google Authenticator or Duo) to complete the login process.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

After your first signup, you will be prompted to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for additional security. Here’s how to enable it:

  1. Once you log in, you will be redirected to the Account Security page.
  2. Follow the instructions to enable 2FA using either Google Authenticator or Duo.

How do I set up Google Authenticator for 2FA?

Follow these steps to set up Google Authenticator:

  1. Download the Google Authenticator app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Log in to your account and navigate to the security settings.
  3. Select Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
  4. Scan the QR code provided using the Google Authenticator app.
  5. Enter the six-digit code generated by the app to complete the setup.

How do I set up Duo for 2FA?

Here’s how to set up Duo for Two-Factor Authentication:

  1. Download the Duo Mobile app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Log in to your account and go to the security or 2FA settings.
  3. Select Duo as your authentication method.
  4. Scan the QR code or enter the activation code to link Duo with your account.
  5. Approve the 2FA request through the Duo app to verify the setup.

What if I lose access to my 2FA app?

If you lose access to your 2FA app (Google Authenticator or Duo), you can usually recover your account using backup codes provided during the setup. Make sure to store them in a safe place. Alternatively, contact admin support for account recovery options.

Can I switch from Google Authenticator to Duo?

Yes, you can switch from Google Authenticator to Duo by disabling 2FA in your account settings, then re-enabling it and selecting Duo as your new 2FA method.
